Sourcing tools that travel with your browser
GiveGigs SideKick
A browser companion for resale sourcing. SideKick reads supported marketplace listings, puts a compact analysis HUD over the page, estimates shipping and marketplace economics, and helps you stage promising finds in your GiveGigs Flippers workspace.
From listing to sourcing decision
A long-form tour of the feature set
SideKick is designed for people who compare secondhand, liquidation, auction, and retail listings as potential inventory. Instead of copying every title, price, and link into a separate worksheet by hand, you can inspect a listing where you find it, get a first-pass set of calculations, and decide whether to keep it for follow-up. The extension is an assistive workbench; you remain responsible for checking the listing, assumptions, shipping rules, and resale channel before buying or making a promise to a customer.
FEATURE 01
- Amazon
- eBay
- Facebook Marketplace
- ShopGoodwill
- Poshmark
- Mercari
- Vinted
- HiBid
FEATURE 02
- Listing title, asking price, source URL, marketplace, and available image
- Seller, shipping text, identifier, dimensions, and weight when the page exposes them
- A compact platform comparison and projected profit snapshot
- A one-click action to stage the current listing in your sourcing queue
FEATURE 03
- Rescan the active tab when marketplace pages update dynamically
- Review staged items and remove or clear local queue entries
- Use quick dimensional-weight and hazmat keyword checks
- Prepare reusable negotiation-message drafts from the side panel UI
FEATURE 04
- DIM weight uses the configured 139 divisor: length × width × height ÷ 139
- Billable weight is the larger of actual and dimensional weight, rounded up to a pound tier
- Common box presets support a quick packing estimate
- Results are planning arithmetic; they are not carrier quotes or label purchases
FEATURE 05
- Current matrix includes eBay, Poshmark, Mercari, and Amazon calculations
- Estimate fees, net payout, net profit, margin, and return on cost
- Try a target resale price and change source or shipping costs in the quick-evaluation workflow
- Fee schedules, taxes, seller plans, promotions, category rates, and shipping rules change; verify current terms yourself
FEATURE 06
- Flags terms associated with lithium batteries and selected regulated goods
- Flags common fragile materials such as glass, crystal, and ceramic
- Shows matching rule labels and caution text in the HUD and quick checks
- A keyword match is not a legal classification; absence of a flag does not mean an item is unrestricted
FEATURE 07
- Can apply a page style that obscures configured seller and URL areas
- Useful as a presentation aid while showing sourcing workflows
- Not a privacy boundary and not a guarantee that every identifying detail is hidden
- Inspect the entire screen and browser before sharing; never rely on this mode to protect secrets
FEATURE 08
- Local queue is tied to the browser profile and has a finite capacity
- Online handoff requires an already-open GiveGigs tab at the allowed origin and your signed-in session
- No API key or password is copied into extension storage for this handoff
- If transfer is unavailable, a pending local copy may remain for you to resend manually
A typical sourcing workflow
- 1Install the unpacked alpha in a dedicated Chrome or Edge profile after reading the permission prompt and this risk page.
- 2Visit a supported marketplace listing. SideKick reads the current page and displays the fields it can identify; check that the captured item and price are correct.
- 3Review shipping weight, marketplace fees, possible hazmat or fragile flags, and the assumptions behind each estimate. Replace defaults with verified inputs.
- 4Stage the listing locally for your own follow-up, or choose to send it to the private GiveGigs staging queue using a signed-in GiveGigs tab.
- 5Recheck live marketplace details, actual sold evidence, shipping rules, condition, authenticity, and fees before purchasing or listing the item for resale.
Understand the browser access before you install
Browser extensions run with privileges that ordinary web pages do not have. SideKick is not a security-reviewed stable release. The information below describes known behavior in the current alpha and practical ways to reduce exposure. It is not a warranty that all risks have been found or eliminated.
- Use a separate browser profile that has no personal email, banking, work-admin, or password-manager sessions open.
- Install only from a download you trust. Before loading unpacked code, inspect the manifest permissions and source files; do not assume a ZIP is safe because it is hosted here.
- Keep SideKick disabled on pages where you do not need it, and remove the extension when you stop alpha testing.
- Do not enter passwords, API keys, payment details, or confidential client information into SideKick; do not treat local storage as encrypted.
- Review each listing before staging it. A listing may expose identifiers, seller details, prices, or other content you did not intend to retain.
- Export important queue records and delete local or staged records when you no longer need them; the local profile and server staging queue are not backups.
- Treat estimated profitability, carrier tiers, hazard flags, listing details, and negotiation text as unverified suggestions; confirm with primary sources.
- If you observe unexpected access, data loss, or suspicious behavior, disable/remove the extension, secure the browser profile, and report the issue through GiveGigs contact channels.
- • No verified sold-comps feed or live market price database is connected by this extension.
- • No carrier-rate API, shipping-label purchase, or guaranteed shipping quote is provided.
- • No official marketplace integration or endorsement is implied; marketplace layouts and access policies can change.
- • No reliable automated synchronization, durable server archive, or guaranteed recovery of local queue data is promised.
- • No compliance, hazmat, authenticity, investment, or profitability advice is provided.
- • Alpha behavior can change, fail, or be removed without notice.
The current setup uses an unpacked Chrome or Edge extension. Download the package, extract it to a folder you will keep, enable Developer mode on the browser’s extensions page, and load the folder containing manifest.json. The setup guide has the steps and sign-in workflow.
For the exact current permission request, inspect the extension’s manifest and the confirmation screen shown by Chrome or Edge before enabling it.
